Knowledge / Luminescence / Kinds

Luminescence kind: summary of the different intended styls of a luminescence

Luminescence: chemical additive that glows when irradiated and thus enables the use of electronically controlled stamping machines

Fluorescence: chemical additive that glows when irradiated with short-wave UV light and thus enables the use of electronically con-trolled stamping machines

Phosphorescence: chemical additive that glows when irradiated with short-wave UV light and thus enables the use of electronic-ally controlled stamping machines

Optical brightener: fluorescent chemical additive that improves the printing and colour effect by increasing the whiteness or com-pensating the yellow tint

With fluorescence: postage stamp issued with fluorescence as intended style

With phosphorescence: postage stamp issued with phosphorescence as intended style

Without fluorescence: postage stamp iss-ued without fluorescence as intended style. This will only be shown when the same post-age stamp was also issued with fluorescence

Fluorescence paper: postage stamp that was printed on paper with fluorescence in the paper pulp or paper coating as intended style

Phosphorescence paper: postage stamp that was printed on paper with phosphores-cence in the paper pulp or paper coating as intended style

Striped phosphorescence overprint: post-age stamp with a bar-shaped phosp-horescent overprint as intended style

Full-surface phosphorescence overprint: postage stamp with a phosphorescent over-print over the entire surface as intended style

With fluorescence additional printing: postal stationery issued with fluorescence additional printing as intended style

With phosphorescence additional print-ing: postal stationery issued with phosphor-escence additional printing as intended style

Without fluorescence additional print-ing: postal stationery issued without fluores-cence as intended style. This will only be shown when the same postal stationery was also issued with fluorescence additional printing
